Manager Trade Compliance

Position Description
The successful candidate will provide supervision of Trade Compliance personnel who perform the daily work of ensuring the Firm’s full compliance with any and all U.S. Government trade laws and regulations.
The incumbent will report to the Director of Trade Compliance at the Firm’s major operating unit and to the Compliance organization at Corporate to ensure that he/she can act to ensure full compliance with the laws, regulations and programs without fear of adverse action. The Firm will provide the incumbent with sufficient training on a regular basis to ensure knowledge of the aspects which contribute to full compliance with the trade compliance laws, regulations and compliance and security programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Serve as an Empowered Official for the major operating unit
- Supervise the coordination, preparation, submission & compliant execution of Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA’s), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA’s), Distribution Agreements (DA’s) & other forms of complex licensing authorizations when needed
- Make critical trade compliance decisions with minimal supervision
- Guide the development & maintenance of Trade Compliance policies & procedures
- Oversee the auditing, recordkeeping, and compliance requirements for all export related licenses and associated shipments
- Assist in the development/execution of Goal Deployment Plans and metrics
- Prepare for internal and external Trace Compliance audits as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience and combined education
- Minimum of 5 years of professional business experience in Contracts and/or Trade Compliance
- Communicates effectively with all levels of management
- Able to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Can multi-task yet remain attentive to details
- Ability to analyze and interpret trade compliance laws, regulations & implement industry best practices
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications and familiarity with MRP systems
- Has excellent relational skills in the supervision of other employees
- Works independently within defined areas of expertise & authority
